Jane Be Pure Mineral Gel Eyeliner - $5.00

I got Jane Cosmetic's Pure Mineral Gel Eyeliner on my Wal-mart trip today.

I've never used gel eyeliner before.  Been meaning to try actually!  I was going to buy some from Coastal Scents, but they're $7 a pop, plus you have to pay like $11.54 for shipping one eyeliner??  If you every buy anything from them, make sure you're getting a whole bunch of stuff all at one time, so you won't have to pay that crazy shipping cost each time.  Ugh.  Total rip-off.

Pencil vs. liquid vs. gel eyeliner
Ok, so I've tried pencil and liquid eyeliner.  I like pencil because its pliable in that-- you can work with the color, you can blend, wipe off relatively easy.  I buy the ones with the sponge/smudge tip.  It comes in handy because when I'm in a rush to get to class, I don't need eyeshadow-- I can just use the sponge tip and quickly smudge the color upward and contour around my eyes, so it gives me the smoky look.  Then, I just reline the eye, then voila, I'm done.  And I like liquid eyeliner because it's dark and gives a refined look, but it's hard to perfect the winged look or the cat eye look.  I would need a boxload of Q-tips for that.  haha

I've never used gel eyeliner and it looks simple enough especially with an angled brush, so I gave it a go!

The Experiment
I bought three colors:  Black (04), Wine (03), and Navy (02).

I just opened up the black one and eww-- it was already used and tried out!!  I couldn't tell by the box!  Need to return it!

The consistency is thick and creamy which is good!  Doesn't appear oily or likely to get oily.

Anyhow, I tried the black out on the back of my hand anyways, the color is kind of a charcoal tone.  I swatched the navy one as well but with my tanned skintone, but from afar, arm's length, it looks black.  Not going to return it though because it still can come in handy.  I'll try it out with primer and on top of eyeshadow next time and I'll update this entry.  So, I'm keepin' this baby since I'm returning the black one.  I figure since it looks black to me anyways, might as well just keep it.  And if I use primer or some color of light colored base and it does appear navy blue, even better!!  Thankfully, the navy one hadn't been used already.  lol

And now, for the pièce de résistance: the Wine eyeliner.  Granted, I don't have much gel eyeliner experience, but the color is sooo pigmented and sooo incredibly pretty.  It's a metallic dark violet color.  Best part?  It's got this luminous metallic sheen.  The black and the navy one didn't.  They were matte, pigmented colors.  But the Wine color?  Simply gorgeous.

Selling points
This product came with a quality natural hair brush.  And it has quite the staying power.  I tried rubbing it and smudging it, it didn't smear on the back of my hand.  When I looked at my smudging finger, I saw tiny flecks of glitter.  Like REALLY tiny.  As for removing it at the end of the day, it's not as easy as using pencil and liquid eyeliner.  Just use any gentle eye makeup remover.  I had to wash my hands for like 30-45 seconds, trying to rub it off.  lol

I was at Walmart debating for the longest time between the Wine color versus the Eggplant gel liner by Loreal HiP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner (For a picture, click here).  The Eggplant color really does have that eggplant color.  lol  It looked like a sophisticated color, but it also came with a sophisticated pricetag.  $10??  Hm...  Not worth it.  Maybe I can get it when it goes on sale at drug stores.  Sometimes with cheaper products, you get lesser quality.  However, for $5.00 (it might have been a little less) for this gel liner, I think I got a great deal.

Overall
The consistency was good.  The brush was good.  The Wine color is fantastic.  The staying power is good.  So, I would say it's a great buy.

Jukari Fit to Fly Gym Experience

Cirque du Soleil anb Reebok are collab'ing on a new gym experience for women.  It's called Jukari and it looks like so much fun to work out with the suspended cables from the ceiling, like what acrobats and gymnansts use.

Unfortunately, there's only one location and it's in Canada.  :(

Anyhow, take a look at the video and start feeling jealous of Canada!!

Bare Minerals Starter Kit - $60

I've been using Bare Escentuals' Bare Minerals line.  My boyfriend got me the starter kit for $60.  It works really nicely.  In fact, I love it.  However, I noticed that it started to make me break out with all these tiny clogged pores.  Very devastating for me.  The end result of using the BE powder was sooo nice.  It looked fresh and dewn.  Minimum, if not, sheer coverage.  It looked like I had nothing on!  But there's an ingredient in the powder that clogs the pores because it's being buffed onto your face and thus buffed into your pores--  it's bismuth oxychloride.

When I realized it was the powder, I started to put on a little non-comedogenic foundation on my cheeks first so that it would protect the bismuth oxychloride from being buffed into my pores.  I haven't seen more tiny clogged pores, so I guess it's working?  But I still need to get a facial done because the damage has already been done.  I'm just glad I found a way to bypass additional clogged pores.

Maybelline Dream Matte Foundation and Powder Combo - $8.00

There's a good deal at Walmart for Maybelline makeup.  $8.00 for a combo of Dream Matte Powder and Dream Matte Mouse foundation for people with normal to oily skin.  Usually, it's like $7-$8 for one of these!!  So, we're looking at 50% off.  There was also another deal:  $8.00 for a combo of the same powder but with the Dream Liquid Mousse foundation for normal to dry skin.  I got both since some days, my skin is dry, and on others, oily.

Ok, honestly, I guess I could have waited till Rite Aid or CVS had a buy one, get one free deal or at least the buy one, get one 50% off, but this was impulse shopping.  I know, it's horrible, right??

OMG not as horrible as the farts emanating from my doggy's ass.  gEez!  Who knew such an silent and deadly fart can come out such a cute dog?  *pinches nostrils closed*

Anyhow, I'm gonna give it a go and see how well it works and hope it doesn't clog my pores as badly as my Bare Escentuals (BE) mineral powder.
