You know how you have that one spot on your body that you may have to give a little bit of extra beauty lovin' to? Well, I just happen to have two of those spots and I'm sure that I'm not the only one that has to give them some weekly TLC! (I'll give you a hint: it involves a razor.)
Alright, you remember how Beth got Botox in her armpits to prevent her from having tacky sweat stains on her bridesmaid dress at a wedding? Well, I'm not bringing this up because I'm going to do the same, but just to point out that the two areas I'm talking about are none other than my armpits. Ensuring their attractiveness can sometimes be, well, the pits.
(And, as you all know, cute armpits in the summer are crucial as it directly correlates to the level of attraction that you may achieve in your sun dresses when trying to get a certain guys attention while shamelessly flirting with him at a backyard BBQ. Ah, summertime....)
I may not sweat profusely but my armpits are super sensitive (the wrong deodorant can equate to a ghastly, itchy rash) and shaving too much can lead to scarring (hello hyperpigmentation!) So, here's a rundown of my weekly armpit regime that helps me to avoid all of the above:
1. I start with a nice scrub. Yes, you read that correctly, a scrub. But only one that's good for sensitive skin. I equate the scrub to the fact that I need to rid my armpits of any dead skin and/or other grossness that may be lodged there. If a scrub can work wonders for my face, then I'm sure it's magic for my pits! (The best scrub I've found so far is the Clinique Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliating Cream.)
2. After scrubbing, I rinse. The scrub I do at least once a week, but not on the day that I need to shave as it could lead to irritation.
3. On the days that I shave, I use a Gillette Venus Spa Breeze Razor and a shaving cream that contains some type of shea butter (love the Skintimate Moisturizing Cream Shave for Dry Skin). I carefully graze over then rinse.
4. After shaving, I use the bliss ingrown hair eliminating pads. It keeps those unsightly shaving bumps at bay. (This product also works wonders on your bikini line if you shave there as well!)
5. And, of course, I finish with a fab deodorant. Now, I'm not normal in the fact that I also hoard deodorant (probably because I'm weirdly obsessed with good smelling armpits). Dove recently launched this awesome deodorant called Ultimate Beauty Care that contains a unique formula to help sooth shaving irritation. Genius!
6. Once a week post-shower and before bed, I rub in a bit of Palmer's Cocoa Butter to keep my skin tone nice and even.
All of this equates to one cute set of pits. (Yes, armpits can be cute, too!)
